Utilization of broadcast archives Regional Museums,Libraries needs: Possibilities and challenges indicated by the survey results (Briefing papers)
In Ishikawa,Fukui&Toyama, when we conducted a questionnaire survey on the needs for past broadcast program archives at Museums,Libraries, and Archives (MLAs). About 70% responded that they would like to use them. The reason for this is that the attractiveness of broadcast images, such as the ease of understanding, enhances and enhances the contents of exhibitions at museums, etc., and has the effect of revitalizing the region, such as increasing the number of tourists and immigrants by passing on and attracting visitors to the local culture and promoting it. expectations were raised. On the other hand, issues related to the use of broadcast archives were also extracted, such as the cost of rights processing, poor consultation service functions of broadcasting stations, and high usage fees. Regional MLAs, whose presence is feared to decline due to digitization and the corona crisis, and broadcasting stations, which are also suffering from an accelerated shift away from television, have traditionally played a role in the public sector. , can help rebuild public spaces that are changing and confused. Based on the results of the research and analysis, we will make proposals to promote utilization, such as legal revisions and operational improvements at broadcasting stations.
