The Digital Archivist's Way of Being -What is required of personnel who plan, develop, and operate digital archives

The Human Resource Development and Utilization Study Committee planned and conducted a session entitled "The Digital Archivist" at the 7th Annual Conference of the Japan Society for Digital Archive. This document includes an explanation of the purpose of the session and a report on the discussions that were held by the committee regarding the mission, targets, and training of digital archivists. In the movement toward DX in society as a whole, there are renewed expectations for digital archives. This report summarizes the current discussions on the role of digital archivists as essential human resources for organizations, groups, and regions, and looks ahead to the future development of national certification.
