飛騨高山匠の技の歴史は古く，古代の律令制度下では，匠丁（木工技術者）として徴用され，多くの神社仏閣の建立に関わり，平城京・平安京の造営においても活躍したと伝えられている。しかし，現在の匠の技術や製品についても，これら伝統文化産業における後継者の問題や海外への展開，地域アイデンティティの復活など匠の技を取り巻く解が見えない課題が山積している。本研究では，知識基盤社会におけるデジタルアーカイブを有効的に活用し，新たな知を創造するという本学独自の「知の増殖型サイクル」の手法により，これらの地域課題に実践的な解決方法を確立するために，「知的創造サイクル」をデジタルアーカイブに応用して飛騨高山の匠の技に関する総合的な地域文化の創造を進めるデジタルアーカイブの効果測定モデルについて試案をまとめたので報告する。
