各地で登場しつつある地域のデジタル映像アーカイブの活用に関して、教育分野での活用は有効であると期待できる。小学校における授業実践のワークショップにより、映像アーカイブを授業で活用することにより、学校と地域社会との連携の強化、子どもたちの興味か関心の向上、メディアリテラシーの涵養、といった効果が見られる。一方で、技術・人材面での整備、授業デザインの開発、教科・単元に対応した映像資料のパッケージ化といった課題が存在することが分かった。
