毎日新聞社とフューチャー社グループのフューチャーアーキテクト社は、2018年11月、新聞制作のコンテンツ管理システムを共同で開発し全面的に刷新した。この刷新と同時に、それまで紙面を降版したあとにインターネットなどに配信する「紙面中心・ベルトコンベア型」だった業務フローは、紙面と各媒体向けの記事制作・リアルタイム配信を同時に行っていく「紙とデジタルの同時並行展開・分散型」業務フローへと大きく舵を切った。本発表では新聞社がどのように膨大なコンテンツの制作とデータ管理に取り組んでいるのか、コンテンツ管理システム刷新の過程で検討されたコンテンツ制作、アーカイブ収録管理、利活用における課題と工夫、新しい業務フローと考え方がもたらす変化について、全国紙の大規模なコンテンツ管理・アーカイブシステムの全容をお見せしながら紹介する。
