本研究では、2020年初頭より我が国で「COVID-19」の感染が拡大したことに伴い中止された現地開催型イベントに代わって、国内にて台頭するようになったアニメ・特撮の「オンラインイベント」に焦点を当てた研究を行なった。具体的には、各映像制作会社によるオンラインイベントに参加する閲覧者の行動特性の類型化を実践した。その結果、特撮・アニメを誘致資源としたオンラインイベント閲覧者の行動特性は、現状では「①ショー観賞型」、「②展示型」、「③購入型」、「④その他」の4種類あることが確認できた。また、これらオンラインイベントは国内での「COVID-19」の感染収束後も、現地開催型イベントへの参加が叶わなかった希望者に向けた発信を継続することによって、イベント運営側も現地開催とオンラインの2つの媒体を通じたより多くの収益の回収が見込まれることから、今後も現地とオンライン開催を両立する形でのイベントの継続が見込まれることが考察できた。
