Without
the opportunity to see the statues at overseas museum in person, it is
difficult to observe them as three-dimensional objects. However, if it is
possible to create 3D data from a statue, it will be able to make the same
kind of observation as the actual statue without going to the museum.
In this presentation, we introduced the process of creating a
three-dimensional digital model of the statues on display at the Museum of
Ostia Antica as an actual case, and examined the usefulness of the
three-dimensional digital model as research data and display materials. In
addition, we discussed the problems of the platform for archiving and using
the digital models by comparing them with overseas cases.
