Model outputs of Nonhydrostatic ICosahedral Atmospheric Model - Spectral Radiation-Transport Model for Aerosol Species (NICAM-SPRINTARS)
Each .nc file contains two groups, 'sprintars_orig' and 'sprintars_bin', corresponding to the outputs of NICAM-SPRINTARS-orig and NICAM-SPRINTARS-bin, respectively. Simulations were performed with horizontal resolutions of ~220km (g-level 5), with outputs re-gridded on 1deg x 1deg lat-lon grid.
The following files contain annual / monthly averaged values on the lat-lon grid:
(1) annual_data_latlon.nc
- Datasets in subgroup 'mass' were used to plot fig.3 & 8
- Datasets in subgroup 'numc' were used to plot fig.5, 9 & 11
- Datasets in group 'optical' were used to plot fig.7 & 12
(2) monthly_data_latlon.nc
- Datasets in subgroup 'numc' were used to plot fig.10
The following files contain annual / monthly zonal averaged values on the lat-altitude grid:
(3) annual_data_zonal.nc
- Datasets in subgroup 'mass' were used to plot fig.4
- Datasets in subgroup 'numc' were used to plot fig.6
(4) monthly_data_zonal.nc
The following files (./activation_diameter) contain the histogram counts of activation diameters for each aerosol type at selected altitude from the daily outputs. The datasets were used for producing fig.13.
(5) acti_diam_dust.csv for soil dust (fig.13a)
(6) acti_diam_salt.csv for sea salt (fig.13b)
(7) acti_diam_sulfate.csv for sulfate (fig.13c)
(8) acti_diam_oc.csv for organic carbon (fig.13d)
