Diagnostic traits and distributions for <i>Ditha</i> species

posted on 2025-08-12, 08:05 authored by Akiyama Makoto, Rei Ueshima<p> We describe a new species of <em>Ditha</em> Chamberlin 1929, from Okinawa, Japan, as <em>Ditha okinawensis</em> n. sp. This species differs from other <em>Ditha</em> species in the number and position of setae at the cheliceral hand, carapace, rallum and male sternite II. <em>Ditha ogasawarensis</em> Sato 1981 is redescribed based on the re-examination of the type specimens and is transferred from the subgenus <em>Ditha</em> to <em>Paraditha</em>. This table shows diagnostic traits and distributions for <em>Ditha</em> species.</p>

沖縄本島南城市の倒木下から採集されたカニムシをDitha okinawensis n. sp.として新種記載した．本種は日本産のDitha属としては3番目の種である．D. okinawensis n. sp.は鋏角掌部の剛毛数が6–7本であること，頭胸甲の剛毛数が108–138本であること，腹部背板Iの剛毛数が11–21本であること，鞭状毛数が7本であること，雄の腹部腹板IIの剛毛数が15–18本であること，基節間結節片が発達しないこと，触肢先端から感覚毛tまでの距離が感覚毛bからsbより長いこと，の組み合わせにより同属他種と区別できる．また，D. ogasawarensis Sato 1981 のタイプ標本を再検討した結果，原記載の一部に誤りが見つかったため再記載を行い，亜属を変更した．この図ではDitha属の識別形質と分布を示す．Manuscript title (in Japanese)
