Bulk ash colorimetric data at Sakurajima volcano from 2009 to 2015
Supplementary 1 is a spreadsheet of bulk ash colorimetric data from Sakurajima volcano. Samples were collected from 2009 to 2015 at ARI (there are some after 2016 but not complete). Samples are analyzed three times; thus, three L*a*b* data are provided for each sample.
Supplementary 2 provides figures of time sequence variation of ashfall at the sampling site, ARI, with colorimetric values (L*a*b* SCI) in Supplementary1. The daily amount of ashfall is only of one site but consistent with those by monthly observation in tendency. Stage I to V are based on Iguchi et al. (2020) [https://doi.org/10.20965/jdr.2020.p0174]. They call intrusive episodes (Ep1 to Ep3) at the beginning of these stages. We call these episodes waxing periods when the slope of cumulative ashfall is steep (red arrows), whereas we call waning periods when the slope is gentle (blue arrows).
